The Barry County Road Commission coordinates and schedules the chloride applications (dust control) for most of the Townships.  The amount of chloride placed on individual roads and the concentration of chloride is determined by each individual township.  The entire cost of chloride materials and application is paid for by the Township.  The Barry County Road Commission places the townships in a fair order, taking into consideration past years, to ensure a single township isn’t always first or always last.  Currently all of the townships are using a 26% Mineral Well Brine solution.  The dust control is placed either in a Single Pass (1000 gallons/mile) or a Double Pass (2000 gallons/mile).  Please click on a township below to view their application rates.
