Pavement Marking
One of the most noticeable services that the BCRC performs is the pavement markings on our roads. The pavement markings are 4” wide yellow or white water based paint. When sprayed the paint is mixed with glass beads to give it reflect ability. The engineering staff surveys all the roads that are painted and determines which ones need to be updated. There are usually two paintings per year. The BCRC averages about 200 miles of center and edge line paint throughout the year.
All paved primary roads are painted by the BCRC every 2-3 years with fereral funds. All local paved roads are painted by the various Townships.
